QQuestions:
Are public departments as public legal persons which subject to the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act?
AReply

Article 3(1) of the Personal Data Protection Act provides that the Act applies to automatic or partially automatic processing of personal data as well as non-automatic processing of personal data stored or to be stored in manually operated databases. In other words, unless in the legally provided exceptional circumstances, any personal data processing is in principle subject to the provisions of the Act. Therefore, public entities that process personal data must comply with the provisions of the Act.
