QQuestions:
Must an institution appoint a personal data officer? If so, must it inform the PDPB of its appointment?
AReply

It is advisable for government and private institutions and associations to appoint their own officers in charge of personal data protection affairs, to better implement the Personal Data Protection Act, as well as to ensure the interests of institution and their staff. However, this is not mandatory, and is not required to be reported to the PDPB.
